SABAN ODY

Born in Istanbul (Turkey). When she was five her mother divorced and married a Moslem restorer, who exerted profound influence on Saban’s artistic development. She studied art education in Haifa before going to Paris in 1977, where she organized art courses for children at Centre Pompidou. In 1978 she was involved in a serious car accident that was to traumatize her severely. She portrayed this trauma in her art. Using expressive colours and lines, Saban paints and draws intricate figures and amorphous creatures, weaving them into psychedelic scenarios. In 1986 she opened “Art Cloche II”, an alternative art centre.
